About Us

Owen MacNutt, the founder of Box Lunch, opened the first Box Lunch in Wellfleet Massachusetts in the spring of 1977. The Box Lunch was started as a seasonal business during the traditional school summer break when Owen was a teacher. During the first year the Box Lunch was a hit!

Owen owns and operates the original Box Lunch in Wellfleet and has Franchised seven other Box Lunches on the Cape including the Hyannis location. Other Box Lunch locations include Falmouth, Dennis, Eastham, Provincetown, and the newest addition in Truro!

The Box Lunch in Hyannis first opened its doors on June 14, 1988.
